The Southwark Sinfonietta
Under conductor Rupert Bond, the Southwark Sinfonietta is an ensemble of musicians from South London who come together to explore small-scale orchestral music of the Classical Period (1750-1830) and beyond. The size of the orchestra allows the players to apply their chamber music skills to this rich and varied orchestral repertoire.
For this year’s Herne Hill Music Festival the orchestra will be performing:
Beethoven - 'Pastoral' Symphony, No. 6 in F major
Hoffmeister - Viola Concerto, soloist David Lasserson
Edward Elgar - Two Interludes from his symphonic poem ‘Falstaff’.
