Harry Brunt — Saxophone
Joining Nel Begley at the Herne Hill Music Festival is saxophonist Harry Brunt, a dynamic force on the UK jazz scene. With a distinctive voice rooted in both tradition and exploration, Harry’s performance style blends lyrical improvisation with a fearless, modern edge. He has performed with artists including Jean Carne, Tom Seals, and Tony Momrelle, and is a core member of Howl Quartet—praised for their “fiery, passionate energy” (UK Vibe). A graduate of Cardiff University and the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama, Harry brings rich experience, bold sound, and melodic storytelling to every performance.
Alexander ‘Honey’ Boulton — Guitar
Guitarist and banjoist Alexander ‘Honey’ Boulton brings vintage swing and contemporary flair to the Herne Hill Music Festival. Originally from Wellington, New Zealand, and now a rising name on London’s jazz circuit, Honey specialises in swing and bebop guitar as well as traditional jazz banjo. His trio of albums—Portrait, Les Charmants, and Honey—showcase his compositional voice and deep respect for jazz history. His ongoing project Stomps and Joys features original rags and 1920s-style novelty tunes. Whether channeling Django Reinhardt or delivering fresh original material, Honey’s joyful presence and rhythmic drive light up every stage he plays.
Luke Fowler — Double Bass
Bassist Luke Fowler brings depth, energy, and swing to the stage with Nel Begley at the Herne Hill Music Festival. Originally from Perth, Western Australia, Luke studied at WAAPA before relocating to London, where he’s become a key figure in the city’s jazz scene. He founded the award-winning venue The Junction, known for hosting top UK jazz names and emerging talent. A Guildhall graduate with a Master’s in Jazz Performance, Luke is known for his strong, Ray Brown-inspired sound, nuanced harmonic understanding, and infectious groove. Whether leading projects or laying down solid foundations, Luke’s playing is as engaging as it is musical.
